ASIA-PACIFIC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 Register your team to take part in the Asia-Pacific Basketball  Tournament and have the opportunity to play in multiple games that day,  PLUS if your team does well enough you go to the semis and the grand  finals for a chance to be crowned as the Asia-Pacific Basketball  Champions in your age group.

This tournament has grown rapidly  over the years and now with teams located locally, interstate and  overseas come over to play it continues to get better!

Oh, and if  you can't get a team together but you want to be part of it and play, we  got you! We can organise to get you in a team so don't event sweat it.  We want you there!

Competition Format

  • U13 Boys, U14 Girls, U17 Boys and Open Men all have 6 teams, 3 rounds then finals.
  • Rank will be determined first by the number of wins, then head to head, if no head to head then win/loss against common teams, if equal then total for and against.
  • U15 boys 5 team round robin, number of wins then head to head then total for and against.
  • Women 3 teams play  each other. Team with best record goes to final, 2nd and 3rd play off in a semi-final game for a Final spot.

FIBA Rules except for the following which are AAU Championship Rules.


Under 13s rules:


  • Under 13 mixed grade must be 13 years and under BY THE 31/12/22 
  •  13 minutes each half
  •  Must play man to man defense; Zone defense not permitted.
  •  When a player is fouled in the act of shooting:

  1. and player makes the basket no extra free throw is taken, automatic point is given becoming a three point play.
  2.  if shot is missed one free throw is taken and if made 2 points is given.
  3. If free throw is missed game carries on 

  •  In case of a draw at the end of a game, game starts with jump ball and whoever scores first wins (Golden Point).


Under 15, 17s and opens rules:


  • Under 15 and 17 boys must be 15 and 17 or under BY THE 31/12/22
  • 16 minutes each half 
  •  When a player is fouled in the act of shooting:

  1. and player makes the basket no extra free throw is taken, automatic point is given becoming a three point play.
  2.  if shot is missed one free throw is taken and if made 2 points is given.
  3. If free throw is missed game carries on 

  • In the last 2 minutes of the second half and teams are 5 point difference clock stops on every whistle.
  • In case of a draw at the end of a game, game starts with jump ball and whoever scores first wins.
